The Reach School in Sebastopol has been awarded a $10,000 grant from PG&E’s Bright Ideas program. It is the maximum amount awarded.

The program funds energy saving and environmental stewardship programs that include solar projects, youth energy and environmental programs, renewable energy or science-related field trips, green school projects and professional development.

The Lake County Office of Education and U.C. San Francisco partnered to win a $5,000 award.

Since 2004, more than 125 schools have participated in PG&E’s Solar Schools and Bright Ideas grant and have been awarded more than $8 million, according to PG&E.
