UPDATE: Scott Mahoney sent over a photo of the Corona Creek staff in their Superman shirts. Check it out.

Waugh Superintendent Scott Mahoney got Superman t-shirts for every teacher at Corona Creek School and Meadow School. They are debuting the shirts today.

Mahoney said the shirts were in response to the controversial film “Waiting for Superman.”

“The abilities of teachers across the land were cast in doubt by the movie ‘Waiting for Superman'” he said in an email.  “Politicians running for office and talk show hosts lambasted public school teachers, in general, as failing our students.  We believe our teachers are doing an amazing job of educating an extremely diverse student body with ever dwindling resources.”

“In order to reinforce this belief and to thank our teachers for their hard work, we had t-shirts made for our 55 teachers using money donated by our PTA,” he wrote.
