________

The number of outgoing district superintendents in Sonoma County now stands at eight.

The following superintendents have announced their retirements at the end of the school year and some of these names represent some of the biggest school districts in the county. If you know of any others, please shoot me an email at Kerry.benefield@pressdemocrat.com

I talked with Kay Schultz, head of the Mark West District, who is on the list. She called the collective departures “a generational change going on now in the superintendency.”

Steve Herrington (didn’t retire, he left Windsor for the Superintendent of the Sonoma County Office of Education post)

Barbara Vrankovich (Cotati-Rohnert Park)

Greta Viguie (Petaluma)

Kay Schultz (Mark West)

Diane Zimmerman (Old Adobe)

Noel Buehler (Oak Grove)

Kim Wilding (Dunham)

Diane Moresi (Rincon Valley)
