Wright School District is proud of a number of Wright Charter School students who pulled in some top awards at recent academic competitions.

The following students earned first place honors at the annual History Day competition last month:

Ulysses Olvera, historical paper

Jesus Rosas, websit

Alessa Sotelo, performance

Celssy Valencia, documentary

Searsy Mendoza and Samantha Gonzalez, group documentary

All seven students have been invited to compete in the state History Day competition April 29 in San Jose, according to the district.

This month, a team from Wright Charter took home the second place prize at the regional Odyssey of the Mind Competition at Santa Rosa High School. Jasmine Cervantes, Destani Alapa, Hannah Kemper, Brianna Sifuentes, Aaron Klaut and Jelani Hall were led by Principal Terrena Rodebaugh and teacher Audra La Sala.
