Jonathan Gomez is Santa Rosa City Schools high school student of the month for April.

Gomez, a senior at Elsie Allen High School, is described as the heart and soul of the campus by school officials.

Gomez was the driving force behind Tamale Togetherness and the Lobo Community Fair. Tamale Togetherness was a sold event that invited the public to the Bellevue Avenue campus to learn how to make tamales and learn a little bit about the Elsie Lobos.

Gomez also spearheaded the annual Lobo Community Fair, an annual event that brings the public on campus to enjoy food, games and a carnival-like atmosphere. Gomez put in more hours on those two events than some people contribute in their whole lives, according to school officials.

In addition to being honored by Santa Rosa City Schools, Gomez will be Elsie Allen High School’s honored senior for 2011.
