Analy High School is taking some novel approaches to the current budget crisis.

On April 20, the award winning debate team will host a showcase in which members of the team will tackle budget problems via debate. The topic? “Resolved: Analy High School would preserve high quality comprehensive education in light of recent budget cuts.”

Organizers say the team members are capable of coming up with some creative answers to the budgetary quagmire.

Tickets are $5. Middle school students are free. The event is from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

Then on April 26 at 7 p.m., music teacher Vance Regan is coordinating what he is calling a town hall meeting on the budget crisis.

The focus of the meeting will be how funding cutbacks affect all districts as well as the community’s collective future, according to Regan. No requests for money will be made, he said.

The meeting begins at 7 and will be held in the auditorium.

Analy High School is located at 6950 Analy Ave. in Sebastopol.
