Saundra Albers, a senior at Santa Rosa High School, has been a valued member of the Santa Rosa City Schools Green Team subcommittee since its creation in 2009. She was honored for that commitment on Wednesday night.

Albers, who will study at UCLA in the fall, helped Santa Rosa High reduce energy on campus by 20 percent. She was also instrumental in having more bike racks installed on campus to encourage students and staff  to use two wheels instead of four to get to school.

As the school’s Climate Protection Club secretary, Albers is credited with keeping lines of communication open between the school and the district subcommittee.
