This photo comes from Piner High School’s Patty Michiels, who says that before school was let out for the week, Rob Dilillo’s culinary arts class had lessons in learning to cook and carve turkey. When they were finished, the meat was donated to help feed local homeless people.

About this blog
I’m an enterprise writer at The Press Democrat, where I have worked since 2001. I’ve covered government, gangs, aging, an Indian tribe and casino, Sonoma State University and social issues, among other subjects. Now I’m covering education. I’ll post here about education and related issues and I welcome suggestions and submissions about relevant topics and events — email them to jeremy.hay@pressdemocrat.com. This is a place for news, debate, conversation and sharing; no flaming, please (unless I spell a name incorrectly). I also want to hear what you are interested in about education in the North Bay and what you want me to look into on this fascinating beat.
Emailing photos to ExtraCredit? Please send them as .jpg attachments, no larger than 1MB per shot.
