Cardinal Newman High School students pulled in 11 medals and 10 honorable mentions in the most recent National Spanish Examination, according to Susye Weng-Reeder, chairwoman of the department of Modern & Classical Languages at the school. Glenn McKevitt also teaches some of the students honored.
More than 140,000 students took the test nationwide, according to the Valparaiso, Indiana-based organization.
