Did you see the photos from The Healdsburg School’s Opera a la Carte Halloween celebration? Well, if the program sounded interesting you might want to check out a fundraiser this weekend supporting Opera a la Carte at schools across Sonoma County.

Soprano Patricia Racette will appear at the event for conversation and song.

Opera a la Carte is an in-school arts program from third through eighth graders that brings an opera singer into the classroom for a live performance which includes a pianist and docent. Students are put into speaking roles. The production is performed for the entire student body.

Tickets for the fundraising event Sunday are $50 per person and includes hors d’oeuvres and wine.

The event is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Congregation Shomrei Torah, 2600 Bennett Valley Rd. in Santa Rosa.

The Sonoma County Chapter of the San Francisco Opera Guild is hosting the fundraiser. SCC/SFOG is a non-profit organization.
