Lynn Woolsey has donated her legislative papers to Sonoma State University.

Woolsey, a Democrat from Petaluma, retired this year after serving two decades in the House of Representatives. She has handed over 97 boxes of legislative papers, including introduced bills, speeches, awards, manuscripts, and visual media, according to the school.

“Sonoma State University is delighted to receive the papers of Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey,” SSU President Ruben Arminana said in a statement. “They will be a significant source of research material for students and faculty seeking to understand how Congress operates and how one distinguished representative performed a difficult and important job.”

Researchers will have access to the materials, by appointment, in 2014, according to the university.
