El Molino High School vice principal Matt Dunkle has been named principal of the Forestville school beginning July 1. Dunkle replaces Doria Trombetta, the Lions’ longtime leader who announced her retirement in January.

Dunkle has been vice principal at El Molino since 2011 before which he was an independent education consultant, according to West Sonoma County Superintendent Keller McDonald.

Dunkle was a teacher at Rancho Cotate High School in 2008-09.

He earned both his Bachelor’s degree in English and Master’s degree in education from George Washington University, a law degree from Case Western Reserve University and his education administration credential from Sonoma State, according to the district.

Dunkle’s annual salary will be $99,600.
